Easter 2011!

Well for this Easter we had a visitor, Kyle. He got to watch Gwen open her basket and toys. We hid and found the eggs later in the day though since he had to fly home mid-morning. We did however celebrate on that Sat. before by going to Stacks Pancake House in Hoboken, YUM YUM! And by going to the movie Rio in 3D (note Gwen's 3D glasses) since it was raining and our planned trip to Central Park had to be cancelled. I was sad but the day ended up being great anyways.

Gwen getting "ready" and picking out her shoes. I can't even walk in those heals very well and Gwen was rocking them!

Running on the streets of Hoboken in the rain, so cute! Makes us miss that area though, really bad actually.

Here is Gwen in her "Harry Potter" 3D glasses...she thought they were funny. She didn't wear them through the whole movie though and I am pretty surprised she didn't vomit because it was blurry when I took mine off. Oh well, the movie was good and she said she liked it!

This is the dumped out Easter basket of Gwen's. She really did make bank this Easter. I can imagine she won't be able to once we have more kids but for now, she seems to be a bit spoiled. Not to mention Easter came right after we got our taxes back, HA!

Jason and Kyle went into the city to the Guggenheim Musuem and Jason bought these for Gwen. They are Picaso magnets where you can make funny faces on each head with different sizes and shapes of eyes, nose and mouths. She LOVES them. (and so do I!)

Some catching up to do!

Here are some pictures to play catch up with our little one growing up. We often don't get time to update this blog and I wish I could more. So here are a few pics of Gwen from the last few months of her just being her :)

Gwen loves wearing Jason's headphones...even with Zombies on her head, she is still cute!

Grandma Judy sent Gwen this Spiderman "Mexican Wrestler" cape from Cabo, Gwen LOVES it and even took it to Daycare for show and tell. :)

One of Gwen's favorite movies is the Iron Giant. She likes to pretend she is finding him and uses the flashlight and usually some crazy getup like this where she has her pjs on, winter coat and a baby blankie for a hat.

Waiting for Kyle to get his Tattoo when he visited in NJ. I believe we were singing The Wheels on the Bus from the app I have on my phone...I love technology.

One of the dresses she got for her birthday - 3 months early! Her Sudo Aunt out here in NJ named Monica always buys things for events super early so Gwen got her dresses really early. This one looks like candyland to me. She loves it (note the goofy face)

My mom brought Gwen this hat too from Cabo, she loves it as well. Wears it all the time, inside and out!

A few quick ones from Easter. We have more and will post them soon but I had to get these in here because they are so cute! She enjoyed the Easter basket and really enjoyed finding the eggs. She counts all the time now so with each egg she found she counted. It was so fun seeing her get excited when spotting each egg almost like she had not seen any other eggs ever until that one...the same super excited reaction.

Visit to Alstede Farms

There is a farm near us called Alstede Farms. They have a bunch of stuff for kids to do and during the ripe fruit and pumpkin seasons you can go pick your own, anything. It's just nice to be outside and for the all day pass, it wasn't that much. Plus Gwen loves animals and running around like crazy so it's the best place to go. She got to ride her first horse. Actually when she was 1, her Aunt Cissy put her on a horse at her other Aunt Debbie's house but it was just quick so this time she actually rode the horse. I think it was harder for Jason and I because we had to leave her alone to do it! Same with riding the wagon train ride. You cannot go with them! Jason and I staggered along the inner fence though and waved at Gwen so she would not be scared. She is just getting so big now, I can't even handle it! We still climbed up the hay mountain with her though because she isn't the best with balance still. Enjoy the pics!

April Fools Day

It's April Fools Day today and Jason taught Gwen a silly joke.
Guess What?
What?
Chicken Butt.

Yep, a classic and nothing too harmful - except now she runs around yelling Chicken Butt over and over :) We didn't dicusss April Fools Day with her much but I can tell by her personality it is going to be a big holiday for her to celebrate...she is a jokester for sure.

They got to wear their clothes backwards today at daycare and she thought that was really cool. We didn't do any jeans or button up shirts because she is really picky about comfort - we did cute striped pants and a long sleeve shirt and she loves it.

We have a play date tomorrow with Mason. Gwen LOVES Mason. He was born on 5/23/07 so almost exactly 1 year older than her. They are best friends. Gwen even woke up talking about him once as if she was dreaming of him. It was pretty funny. Here are a few pics of them playing at the Imagination Station in Roxbury and feeding the ducks on a dock. This was all before the March Snow storms though. Grrrr.

This weekend we are going over to their house because it's going to be chilly out and we are watching the Final Four basketball tourney with them since Dave, the dad, is from Kentucky and UK is in the Finals! It will be fun. Plus, Lauren and Dave are going to watch Gwen for us on April 9th while we go into the city to help celebrate our good friend Shelley's birthday. She is flying in from Germany (where she lives) and will be in NYC for a week or so which means we HAVE to see her. I believe Gwen will even have to "sleep over" for a little bit until we come back home. Crazy!!!

She is really growing a lot. Almost 37 inches and 32 lbs. Pretty much grown out of or close to out of all her clothes so it's a good thing her birthday is coming up because we NEED clothing for her. It's nice to get summer items for her anyways, ya know? Speaking of her birthday. If you ask her when her birthday is she says "Birthday 2 months" and it's hilarious. She told her daycare that over and over one day. I walked into get her and they asked if Gwens birthday was in 2 months because they "couldn't tell" and smiled. She lets you know what is on her mind, man.

Jason and I are working on a list of cute things she says and will post soon. We hate that people miss her growing up at this stage, but we hope this blog helps a little bit.

Speaking of things she says. We made a Twitter account for her where I post the cute things she says - unedited. It's stuffgwensays on Twitter.com. I believe you have to make an account yourself to follow her, but it's pretty cute to read them. Plus I can post from my phone so the things she says are almost as if it's instantly from her mouth (without forgetting!)

I will leave you with this last photo - I just love it. She is such a beauty.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

It was St. Patrick's Day yesterday and Gwen wore her 27 pieces of flare to school on her shirt! Not literally, the shirt is made that way, but cute non the less. Gwen actually picked out this shirt. We were all Walmart and I held up 2 shirts. 1 pink with LOVE (O being a shamrock) on it and this one (has suspenders and buttons and jewelry on the shirt) and said, "you pick, which one do you want?" and she looked back and forth, pointed at the pink one then pulled her hand back and then finally said, "this one!" and pointed at the green one. We were pretty amazed...it's such a step to see your little one making a logical decision, even if just about a shirt. Well, it was the best choice, it was perfect and she loved it and looked great in it!

At daycare they ate green pancakes, green milk and even had green cookies for a snack! GREEN MILK? Her bathroom situation makes complete sense now...TMI I am sure.

Today was show and tell and she took her Dora the Explorer brush. Yes, really, a brush. It's funny because she has some of the most unique toys and stuffed animals ever and kids would love to see them, but we are teaching her decision making and part of it is going with the decision she makes, even if an odd one! She hated when I used a pick to brush her hair after bath time so we got her this cheap-o dollar store brush with Dora on it and BAMM - she brushes her hair all the time and allows me to now which in the end makes life much easier after bath time, ha!

Daddy is 28!

Happy 28th birthday daddy! Or as Gwen says, happy my birthday daddy!

Hair things!

Finally let us put barettes in her hair! She never let's us do anything with her hair, so cute!
